Textile panels

Textile panels for art in the making

Usually I work on paper with mixed media (often including gouache, acrylic inks, watercolour, printing, crackle glaze, embossing etc), but my original training as an artist was in textiles and so it is to textiles that I frequently return. In Strange Miscellanies an exhibition with the painter Philip Weaver in 2006, I printed and painted a series of long silk panels that explored maelstrom, catastrophe and how everything is interlinked. In Art in the Making 2008 with Angie Hughes, our textile pieces were suspended from the columns in St Michaels Church in Ledbury and I continued to develop the interconnectedness of all things. In 2010 the silk panels now began to contain further historical references and links. www.angiehughes.com
